Leisure industry client
Since Autumn 2016, JCW Saunders have been looking after the gas services for one of UK's top Community Pub Chains. A relatively new client, we began working with them on a planned and reactive maintenance basis for circa 800 pubs throughout the UK. We proved very quickly our understanding of the leisure industry and that we could deliver an excellent, bespoke service, country wide. So the Client kindly invited us to do more…
In need of an update
The Popular pub have recently undertaken a project to update gas equipment that was failing or had become outdated. As their gas maintenance provider, who has an in depth knowledge of the working methodology and equipment on site, JCW Saunders were invited to tender for this work. We have extensive experience with regard to replacing large scaled plumbing systems, new radiators and pipework as well as oil or gas fuelled boilers all within strict timescales.
Our Client's existing heating system at their Pinxton pub was in desperate need of a full upgrade due to its age. Future repairs and maintenance would become even more problematic to carry out. They also wanted a new system that could provide far higher energy efficiency which would support the client in their goals towards the environment.
Due to the previous work we had conducted for the Pub group, our dedication to the client and our competitive pricing, we were successful in our bid and were delighted to be appointed as the main contractor for this project. We were tasked to provide the design, supply and replacement of 27 radiator units within the premises of the pub and hotel. The out dated one pipe steel system was to be removed to make way for the new copper two pipe system. A new Worcester Bosch 40CDI Regular Classic was to be installed alongside a 170 Litre unvented hot water cylinder
The work commenced at the start of February 2017 and was completed on schedule within 4 weeks.
Our Project Team
The project was managed and administered by our operations team based in Ipswich. This involved organisation of Risk Assessment and Method Statements. Most works were at ground level, involved gas re-connection and pipe required minor brazing. The team were briefed by the Project Manager, Adam Moss as well as our HSQE Manager, Rob Hughes prior to commencement of works at the location. To keep disruption to the put to a minimum, some indoor works, within customer facing areas, were carried out during non-trading hours.

"The JCW Saunders team have a wealth of experience with planning and completing central heating replacement projects, particularly within the Housing industry. However through this project we have gained invaluable experience within the leisure and hospitality industry. Our team of experienced installation engineers worked nights to ensure there was as little disruption as possible. We worked closely with the management team of the local Pub to ensure a smooth installation and handover and provided a comprehensive Operation & Maintenance manual."
